形態特徵

• Adventitious roots few, glabrous, as thick as rhizome. Rhizome glabrous, striate, elongate; annual vegetative branch with 2 cataphylls at base, upper cataphyll membranous, hyaline, sessile, oblong, glabrous on both surfaces, margin hairy, obtuse at apex.
• Leaves gland-dotted, short hairy above when young, glabrescent, glabrous beneath; petiole hairy above, grooved; blade triangular-oblong to triangular-ovate, acute to acuminate at apex, cordate and 2-lobed at base, 3.7 cm long, 2.3-2.9 cm broad, lobes 1 cm long, 1.4-1.7 cm broad, green and white spotted above, purple beneath.
• Flowering branch with 2 cataphylls at base, upper cataphyll ovate, glabrous on both surfaces, margin hairy; flower emerging from branch or from a young leaf, 7 mm in diameter; pedicel glabrous, 4 mm long; calyx tube glabrous outside, reticulate-ridged inside, with orifice at the upper edge of ridge; linear scars present between orifice and calyx lobes; calyx lobes 3, irregularly thickened, glabrous, with glands inside; stamens 12, filaments much shorter than anthers; ovaries fused; style 6, free, slightly 2-lobed at apex; stigma orbicular, lateral.
• Fruit unknown.
• This species is closely allied to <i>Asarum taipingshanianum</i> but differs from it by the thickened sepals, which are glabrous and bear glands only inside, and by the pollen grains with incomplete reticulate ornamentation.

• 台灣 : on forest floor around Yuanyang Lake at 1,600 to 1,700m.
